@viratanka These last 2 days my Mom has been staying at my place. Earlier tonight she asked to see the pictures from my Europe trip. “I want to see what you saw,” she said.
So I showed her. Pictures of buildings, museums, buildings, scenery, and more buildings, with some pics of me and @diyantouchable in between.
As we went through the pictures, I told her what they were and what I thought of them, why they were important to me.
Being a good listener that she’s always been, she just listened to what I had to say; from the political reason behind “The Kiss” graffiti on Berlin Wall to how comfortable my shoes were.
We also discussed a few things, and she shared some relevant stories from her own past trips.
Only a few days ago @murni.ridha and I talked about how I almost never travel only with my Mom alone (for our future podcast episode). I once asked my Mom to travel with me, but her reaction was something like, “Seriously? Why?” Dude, I’m rejected by my own mom 😆
As cold as that might seem, I admit that we might not be compatible travel mates, especially if it’s just the two of us.
But I am happy that we can still exchange travel stories and our thoughts about many things from those experiences. .
Tell me, what’s your relationship with your mother/father regarding traveling? .
