Long post alert!
Last week I said that I am at a crossroad and not quite sure which direction to take and as a result I embarked on a retrospective look at where I started. As a photographer and student of the arts, the biggest challenge is finding my voice in a sea of voices and clarity of purpose. Who am I?
Looking back helped me figure a few things out and set into motion a couple of things.
1. I completely removed my second IG account. This account was meant for my adventures, travels and shenanigans but what I failed to realise was that they actually complemented my photography. If not, they were one and the same. So moving forward, there will be more content and story to tell. Come with me and let's go to places, wander and get lost.
2. I started a new project unknowingly. For so long, I have been asking myself what I can do differently and creatively at the same time and yesterday I found the answer. The photo before you is a time blend in a linear direction, from the light of day to the dark of night, all in a single image. I had a vision and went for it and I am ecstatic about it. I call the project LUX TENEBRIS (Latin for light to dark) and I am hoping this is the beginning of a wonderful journey and will result in unique images I can add to my portfolio.
Sometimes one must look back in order to move forward.
