@michelle_janeen I’ve deemed today as self care Sunday. I began my day with a sunrise meditation (sweet Lola joined me in her favorite morning spot). Rising early is no longer something I dread but sacred time I look forward to and cherish. It’s my time. I also booked myself a massage, followed by a much needed pedicure. Yay! No more half gel pedicure (that’s when your gel polish begins at the middle of your nail because your nail has grown out so much 😆). _____
Several years back Kasey and I started a practice of rotating Sundays. We take turns having a Sunday all to ourself to do whatever our heart desires. His Sunday is ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS, spent golfing and my Sundays are often spent doing absolutely nothing. It’s when I exhale. Sometimes I crave just being home (homebody 🙋🏼♀️), and on those days Kasey takes Maddyx out so I can have the house to myself (the best, right?). While I absolutely love that time I also know I need to get out of the house and truly practice self care (which doesn’t consist of doing things around the house). So today I began that shift. Heck ya, I left the house on my day! 😆 I’m also planning on getting back into my yoga practice so I’ve been researching classes in my neighborhood to start going to on my Sunday(and maybe even one or two during the week). I tend to lean towards being a creature of habit and find comfort in the known, so even taking a new yoga class with a new instructor and new faces can intimidate me. I know, so weird, but true. But, as I always say... we grow in the discomfort, so as I grow wiser I continue to push myself to get comfortable in the uncomfortable. Even if it’s means I stop procrastinating and go to that yoga class I’ve never been to. That’ll be my next Sunday. Baby steps.
One last thing.. I shared in my stories a 40 day meditation challenge so if you’re interested in joining me, check it out! I just began today, so we could do this together!
