A new book that I just got but haven’t read yet concerning the Italian Army on the Macedonian and Albanian fronts during the First World War. ‘Visioni di Guerra e d’Oriente’ is written by an Italian Colonel, Mario Pecchio, detailing his service with the Italian 35th Division in the Balkans. Initially assigned to the Allied Army of the Orient on the Macedonian front, it was later relocated to the Albanian front, where Italy’s geopolitical interests meant it concentrated almost the entirety of its forces in the Balkans. The book itself was published in 1925 and seems to be an extremely amateur publication, as well as quite rare - a search brings up only two libraries in the world with copies, both in Italy. Any suggestions of memories of the Italian Army during the First World War, especially in the Balkans, would be much appreciated. I have only just started to learn to read Italian, but certainly want to branch out into more comparative histories in the future.
