Dressed in all black to attend the death of to my 9-5 job. Do I look unemployed yet?
While I hope the caption and photo makes you giggle, I have something more substantial to share with you all. I’ve met a great deal of my friends and followers through work. I’ve recently stepped down from my position at Athens Area Humane Society. Why? We won’t totally get into that but I want everyone to know that their mental health and happiness should in the top 3–if not the first thing—you need to take care of for your own sake. Take care of yourself.
C O M M U N I C A T E with your support group that you’re going thru it cause no one knows when we’ve got our masks on. All of this is SO. MUCH. EASIER. said than done... but I’ve heard it, experienced it, took the advice and recently I’m feeling like I’m finally starting to emerge from my “funk” although we all really know that a person doesn’t easily put it behind them. I’ve heard this advice firsthand and couldn’t relate because I truly did not know, but now I’m enlightened. I had to go low to rise. Stay high my friends.
Thank you to my mother for being my rock. I LOVE YOU MUMS. thank you to my fam—Ayyyyeeee 🤙🏽
Shoutout to my friendships that have survived me and life.
And to @jed.kay - a special thank you for being there for me with every baby step. It’s easier to give up than to trudge through the mud. You’re the soldier marching to the beat of my heart ♥️
