Sunny days well spent in the tropics🌴🐠
It’s getting cold here in Europe and I really miss warm days. The only thing I want to do when it’s freezing outside is to stay in, drink hot tea and being lazy hahah😂 It’s not only about the temperature it’s the whole vibe that I like about summer and tropics! I love wearing cute summer dresses and walk barefoot🙈 Oh and not to mention the yummy refreshing smoothie bowls😋
What do you love the most about summer?
Instantaneously this girl became one of my ride or die friends. She is one of those ppl that you start calling family because it’s just easier to explain your closeness and friendship. If you attended our wedding, she is one of the brains responsible for so many special touches. She spent HOURS and DAYS creating our center backdrop, addressing wedding invitations, assembling our party favors, taking care of last minute craziness on little to NO sleep! Angela, I don’t know what I did to deserve a friend like you, but Logan and I are so blessed to have you in our life....Happy Birthday Cousin! We love you! @acalija#cousins#happybirthday#rideordie#coworkers#friends#pilipinas

In 2016 the government of Japan offered a very deliberately muffled recognition that it used Koreans as "comfort women" during its occupation of Korea. It did not accept responsibility for the rapes, abuses and deaths of Korean women kept as sex slaves nor did it commit to reparations to the families of the victims its army left behind. Each year the Japanese PM has instead offered sacrificial gifts the graves of those who committed the crimes against the occupied territories and peoples Japan oppressed during the war.
The government of the Philippines has for decades gone out of its way to block any recognition of Japan's use of Filipinas as sex slaves during Japan's occupation of the Philippines. Recently President Duterte had a monument to the women abused by Japan removed in the middle of the night. Each passing president has stifled our lolas who were kept in slavery just so Japan would not cut off Manila from Japanese "investment". This has allowed the old colonizer to maintain a certain level of authority that has been purchased with the lowest bid.
In November of 2019 the Malaya Lolas (Free Grandmothers) requested the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women to put legal pressure on the Philippine government to provide full and effective redress and reparation, including compensation, satisfaction, official apologies and rehabilitative services. The women Malaya Lolas represents were detained in the Red House (in Pampanga) for between one day and three weeks and subjected to repeated instances of rape, other forms of sexual violence, torture as well as inhumane conditions of detention by the Japanese Imperial Army with the cooperation of the puppet government and Japanese officials. Their suffering must be recognized and Japan must be held accountable.
No matter how busy you are with school, work, or life in general—take time to take pause, reflect, and appreciate your blessings. ✨

I couldn't count how many times this year has shaken me to the core. But through understanding and practising self-care, and with the love and support of the few beautiful people in my life, I made it.
Thank you all for your well wishes. 🙏🏻🌸🐘 #28andfeelinggreat
