Google revealed this stat a while ago and for me it’s still quite shocking (and perhaps in the meantime the percentage grew). I know that usability may mean nothing if the performance of a product is poor and people don’t get the chance to use it. It seems quite obvious, but at the same time, hey - 3 seconds? 1...2...3 and that’s it, more than half of mobile visitors are out. 😱 Users are demanding, indeed! • What’s the lesson here? Performance matters. Making sure your products function well and are reliable is the first step in the hierarchy of user needs (as Aaron Walter points out in his pyramid). Don’t ignore it, even the best design choices will be for nothing if the user doesn’t get the chance to interact with them 👌🏻 • • • Oh and one more thing: the nice mobile mockup was done using one of @alexunderhess.design ‘s tutorials 😎 one of my favourite accounts 🙌🏻 • • #learndesign #designlesson #designlessons #dailyinspiration #designinspiration #userinterfacedesign #uxuidesign #uiuxdesign #appdesign #mobileappdesign #webdesigner #uxd #interactiondesign #designeducation #designschool #hcd #humancentereddesign #designthinking #servicedesign #designprocess #experiencedesign #productdesign #productdesigners #googledesign #figma #figmadesign #uxleader

from @ognjen.cirovic How to master visual hierarchy in UI design 💥 --- Regardless of your expertise level, knowing basic design principles is a must. Back at the beginning of my studies, I was annoyed that we were concentrated so much on "theory stuff". But, of course, I later found out that without those basic principles good design cannot be achieved. 🙊 --- What is visual hierarchy? 👀 - Simply put, It is the way of organizing content in such a way that a consumer can easily comprehend the level of importance of each element. It is how we visually rank the design elements. Its also in what order we want users to see the information. 👓 --- Why is it important? 👀 - Without proper visual hierarchy, users will follow a predictable path and will potentially miss some important pieces of information. By assigning different visual characteristics to different objects, we can influence what users will perceive as more important. 💣 --- Importance of Gestalt psychology. 👀 - Visual hierarchy is initially based on Gestalt psychological theory which pays attention to the user's visual perception of elements. The theory proposes that the whole of an object or scene is more important than its parts. Gestalt was founded in the twentieth century by Max Wertheimer, Wolfgang Köhler, and Kurt Koffka. --- Visual hierarchy mostly (but not only) depends on the following 5 principles: - 1️⃣ Color 2️⃣ Size 3️⃣ Contrast 4️⃣ White space 5️⃣ Repetition --- What is your favorite design principle? Write your thoughts in the comment section below! 🙇 --- Follow @ognjen.cirovic for more UX/UI design tips! 💪 --- #designtips #designprinciples #designprocess #hierarchy #freelancerlife #designlife #designthinking #webdesigner #userinterfacedesign #learndesign #productdesigner #appdesigner #ui #ux #uidesign #uxdesign #uidesigner #uxdesigner #gestalt #adobexd #sketchapp #figma #digitalproducts #userexperience #userexperiencedesign #uiux #designadvice

A simple guide to motion principles. __ Arc A ball thrown from a height follows a parabolic path. Arcs make things more natural. In interfaces, elements which are following a diagonal path can be made more natural by following an arc. Arcs can be used when you want to highlight an element’s path. __ Slow in and Slow out Most of the objects in the real world follow motions which are eased. That is, an object’s motion is not abrupt. A free falling object starts slowly and then gains momentum. Adding easing to your interface elements gives more life and makes them appear more natural. Timing and easing alone can be used effectively to define your motion systems. __ Secondarry action In animation, secondary action is used to support or enhance the primary action of an object. The motion of a character’s head while walking is a secondary action. In interfaces, secondary action can be used to make primary actions more prominent. These are useful at places where an element needs to give a feedback to the user. All micro-interactions are based on secondary action principle. __ _ Typeface by @sundaytypeco / @davidsilvaco _ _ _ _ #uidesign #uxdesign #userinterface #appdesign #interface #mobileapp #uiux #uxdesigner #uitrends #mobileapps #dailyui #wireframe #designtips #uxigers #userinterfacedesign #designtip #mobiledesign #uiinspiration #uiuxdesign #adobexd #uxinspiration #appdesigner #uidesignpatterns #instaui #mobileappdesign #uxuidesign #uidesigns #uiuxsupply #uiuxdesigner #uidesigner

Developing Cards and Nested Component can be a hectic task. So providing additional details of complex component like Cards which have multiple elements to be coded can be helpful in development. Providing Grid Layout to developers make there work easy as they use Grids in CSS to define where each elements is placed and how much grids are needed to code that nested component. #practicaldesyne #designhandoff #uiuxdesigner #uisupply #designstrategy #freelancerdesigner #appdesigner #uxuidesign #uxdesigning #uidesigns #uiuxsupply #uxdesigners #uxinspiration #freelancework #uxdesign #userexperiencedesign #userinterfacedesign @ultimateuiux @uicollections @ui.snacks @thedesignfix @edouard_iosdev @designsbycharmi @dribbble @ux.martin @trupsfolio @design_pilot @programmerplus @s4ifullahkhan

A slow website is causing us to lose visitors and potential customers even before they have a chance to read about the service we are providing. For e-commerce websites, the impact of slow page load is even more severe. Slow websites lead to increased bounce rates and shopping cart abandonment. But, this can be prevented using reliable web hosting providers. Need help to improve your website? Click the link on bio to find out how.
